Annual Chemistry Demonstration

Learn about the power of chemistry at the sixth annual Chemistry Demonstration at St. John Fisher University.

Date: Sunday, November 3, 2024
Time: 11 a.m. (Doors open at 10:30 a.m.) - Noon
Location: Skalny 141

Join Fisher's celebration of National Chemistry Week and see science in action! Fun for adults and kids of all ages.

Come and watch experiments showing color changes in titration reactions, bright burning of magnesium metal inside dry ice,
explosions of methanol, nitrocellulose gun powder, hydrogen and methane gas, flammable soap bubbles and foam, explosive self-carving pumpkin, fire generated from pieces of rock, spectacular chemiluminescense reactions generating bright light: red, blue, green.

Stop at each play station after the show and make polymers disappear, drive magnetic fluid with a magnet, explore a high temperature superconductor levitation, make your own take-home bracelet glowing under UV light.
