Board Leadership Seminar

The seminar series is designed to equip board leaders for effective nonprofit governance.

Seminar Topics

Seminar series topics include:

  • Board Responsibilities and Structure
  • Financial Literacy for Boards
  • Board and CEO Partnership
  • Board Diversity and Inclusiveness
  • Managing the Board For Effectiveness

Each seminar includes a presentation on standards of practice for nonprofit boards and a discussion of issues that arise when applying the standards. Cohorts are intentionally small to facilitate candid exchange in an atmosphere of trust and collegiality.

Eligibility and Nomination Process

The seminar is designed for leaders who are just beginning their terms as chair or are in line to be chair of the board of a nonprofit organization. Preference is given to current board chairs. Candidates are nominated by the executive director of their organizations.
