Special Collections Reproduction and Use
We welcome the use of our Special Collections. As Fisher is primarily a teaching institution, during certain times of the year there may be considerable delays in our ability to respond to requests. Please put in requests at your earliest possible convenience if you have publication or other deadlines.
Requests to view materials in person may be difficult to accommodate, but we can provide lists of our collections so you can narrow down the items of specific interest for your research/ project. We can then show potential items of interest via Zoom or other teleconference method to assist in confirming the materials are what you need.
If you intend to use any of our images or other materials for publication or exhibition, i.e. reproduce a photograph or letter in a book or documentary film, you must fill out a Special Collections Use Agreement [pdf]., which gives you permission to use the item for the duration of that one project. We will provide you with the appropriate language to credit our collection.
Acquiring reproductions of materials in any format from Special Collections or Archives does not confer the right to recopy, reproduce, publish, or exhibit them without the express written consent of Lavery Library at St. John Fisher University.
In order to fulfill request for material(s), we reserve the right to charge a fee for expenses including but not limited to, staff time, digitization, materials, and shipping. Payment must be made prior to final delivery of the material(s).
