3 + 3 Pre-law Programs

Earn a law degree in six years through the Legal Education Accelerated Program (LEAP) at Fisher.

St. John Fisher University, in conjunction with the State University at Buffalo School of Law and Syracuse University College of Law, offers the opportunity for a select number of qualified St. John Fisher University students to earn a bachelor of arts degree and a juris doctor degree over the course of approximately six years of full-time study.

Qualifying for the Program

To qualify for the program, you must:

  • Matriculate at Fisher as a first-year student, completing the University's First Year Program, Core Curriculum, major, and minor requirements.
  • Consult with a LEAP advisor during your undergraduate years to discuss educational and career goals.
  • Earn a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher.

In your junior year, your advisor will work with you to help you prepare for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and to assist you in your application to the partner programs, complete with two academic letters of recommendation from Fisher faculty.

The 3+3 programs are open to a variety of majors. You will complete your major requirements and the Fisher core before beginning your coursework at your chosen law school. Up to 30 credits from your first year of law school coursework is accepted by Fisher to complete the requirements for your undergraduate degree.

You are also required to meet with an academic advisor to review the specific program requirements for your undergraduate major.
