Internship Opportunities

In recent years, history students have interned at:

  • Rochester General Hospital
  • Monroe County historian's office
  • George Eastman Museum
  • Rochester Historical Society
  • The offices of the Monroe County district attorney and public defender

As a Fisher history major, you also may take advantage of The Washington Experience. Spend a semester working and studying in the nation’s capital, and earn credit toward your degree in the process.

Getting Involved

History majors are eligible to take part in a number of different on- and off-campus social, academic, and pre-professional activities. The History Club sponsors field trips, a guest speaker series, and film presentations of historical significance. You are also encouraged to join the Fisher chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the history honors society.

If you are interested in pursuing a law career, consider becoming a member of the Pre-Law Association. Through mock trials and workshops, this organization gives you an up-close look at the legal field. Members of the association network with law alumni, becoming more familiar with the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) as well as law school applications and admissions procedures.
