Sociology and Anthropology Internships and Activities
Internship Opportunities
As a sociology and anthropology major, you are encouraged to complete at least one internship during your junior or senior year. These placements provide you with hands-on opportunities to apply sociological concepts to concrete situations and organizations and allow you to explore career interests.
Examples of internships include:
- Mt. Vernon National Monument
- The Rochester Museum and Science Center
- The George Eastman Museum
- Strong Museum of Play
Internships give you valuable field experience for your transition to a possible professional career. You will attend scheduled meetings with your internship coordinator and make weekly entries in an internship log to document your experience.
The Center for Career and Academic Planning recommends Handshake as the starting spot for current internship postings. Find additional career preparation and development resources in CCAP's Career Toolkit.
