School of Business Students Learn Proper Dining Etiquette
Nearly 45 students from the School of Business attended an Etiquette Dining and Networking Event on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Constellation Brands, JK Executive Strategies, Paychex, and Tompkins Financial sponsored the event.
Jill Knittel ’94, ’03 (MBA), president of JK Executive Strategies, and Mark Brown, talent planning manager at Constellation Brands, facilitated the etiquette portion of the event. Knittel and Brown gave an informative and entertaining presentation on etiquette best practices and suggestions for avoiding sticky situations. They educated students on how to properly act during a meal at an interview or a business meeting.
“I really liked the event because it gave me an awesome opportunity to not only expand my network but also to work on skills that are harder to learn in a classroom setting,” said junior accounting major Megan Kreger.
Senior finance major Maxwell Herbst emceed the event.
“Before we part this evening, I’d like to reflect on how transformative my Fisher education has been in part because of the strong connection to the community,” he said during his closing remarks. “I’ve had an excellent education and experience, which has prepared me for the position I accepted this week with Leonard’s Express.”
Students had the chance to network with professionals from each of the sponsoring companies before sitting down for a three-course meal prepared by the award-winning Fisher Dining Services.
