St. John Fisher College Signs On As Cristo Rey Network University Partner
Today, the Cristo Rey Network announced St. John Fisher College as the organization's newest University Partner. Joining a partnership program now boasting 53 colleges and universities, St. John Fisher College demonstrates a longstanding commitment to the promise and ambition of Cristo Rey graduates.
“St. John Fisher College is pleased to be Cristo Rey Network’s newest University Partner,” said Gerard J. Rooney, president of St. John Fisher College. “The network’s model and mission align closely with ours, and we look forward to continuing to welcome Cristo Rey graduates into the Fisher community.”
The Cristo Rey Network of high schools delivers a career focused, college preparatory education in the Catholic tradition for students with limited economic resources, uniquely integrating rigorous academic curricula with four years of professional work experience and support to and through college. Comprised of 37 Catholic, college- and career-preparatory schools that today serve 12,000 students across 24 states, we partner with educators, businesses and communities to enable students to fulfill their aspirations for a lifetime of success. The impact is evident: Cristo Rey students are three times more likely to complete a bachelor’s degree by age 24, compared to the total U.S. low-income population.
“St. John Fisher College's record of investing in Cristo Rey Network students precedes this partnership. What started out as a summer program pipeline with just one of our schools has now grown to a national partnership with our 37 high schools, offering more students an affordable, high-quality college education with resources to support their persistence," said Stephanie Arias, Director of College Initiatives. “We are thankful to Fisher for their partnership and look forward to great outcomes for our graduates in the coming years!”
