Rochester Financial Organization Honors Fisher Senior

Cooper Swartwout ’22, a student in the St. John Fisher College School of Business, has been selected to receive a scholarship from the Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). Swartwout was among five finalists from local area colleges.

Founded in 1931, FEI’s mission is to advance the success of senior-level financial executives, their organizations, and the profession. Students who receive the FEI award are recognized by faculty for their outstanding academic achievements, participation and character development through extracurricular activities, and potential for future business leadership.

Swartwout is a double major in finance and accounting. He was nominated for the scholarship by Dr. Patricia Wollan, associate professor of finance and department chair, accounting and finance.

“Cooper is a budding leader with a clear sense of direction who has managed the rigors of being a student-athlete, a student leader, and a student actor as well as being an outstanding scholar,” shared Wollan.

Swartwout is a member of the men’s tennis team. An active leader on campus, he has been a member of the Investment Club, Delta Sigma Pi (DSP), and the Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC), through which he is a business school ambassador. He joined the Investment Club in his first year at the College and has taken on more leadership roles in each subsequent year, currently serving as vice president. While at Fisher he has also acted in two College productions – “Legally Blonde” and “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Swartwout has recently accepted a 2021 summer internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Manhattan and plans to continue in public accounting after graduation.
