Dining Services, Campus Ministry Host Food Donation Drive
Now through Thursday, Nov. 18, Fisher Dining Services and the Office of Campus Ministry are hosting a non-perishable food and household items collection drive to benefit Saint Joseph’s House of Hospitality.
Saint Joseph’s provides food, clothing, shelter, and spiritually-centered care to those in need in the Rochester community. Items can be dropped off in Cyber Café. Those who make a donation valued at $4 or more will receive a free Starbucks coffee and donut.
The organization needs pantry items including butter, sugar, creamer (plain), jelly and jam, coffee, oil, peanut butter, and meat. Household needs include laundry soap (powder), bleach, deodorant, toilet paper, 39-gallon trash bags, paper towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and dessert plates. St. Joseph’s is also in need of men’s underwear/boxers, men’s jeans, books and sneakers (size 11 and up), gloves and hats, sleeping bags, tents, hoodies, coats, and bath towels.
Monetary donations are also welcome and can be made on St. Joseph’s website.
Fisher Dining is also holding a “Donate a Swipe” campaign. Students can donate a swipe, which will be given to students who exhaust their swipes. See a Ward-Haffey Dining Hall cashier for more information.
