Fall Cavanaugh Speakers Series Features Poet

Poet Megan Fernandes will deliver the 2023 Fall Cavanaugh Speakers Series at St. John Fisher University.

Sponsored by the English Department, the event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Basil Hall 135, and is free and open to the public.

Fernandes is a South Asian American writer living in New York City. She was born in Canada and raised in the Philadelphia area. Her family are East African Goans. She is the author of The Kingdom and After (Tightrope Books, 2015) and Good Boys (Tin House, 2020). Her third book of poetry, I Do Everything I’m Told (Tin House), was published in summer 2023.
