Forbes Names Fisher a “Top College”
St. John Fisher University was named to the Forbes 2023 America’s Top Colleges list. This list recognizes the top U.S. colleges that have demonstrated impressive graduation rates, high graduate salaries, and great outcomes for low-income students.
Forbes assesses institutions based on their Carnegie Classification. Fisher was reclassified as a Doctoral/Research University (today, Doctoral/Professional University) in 2010 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in recognition of the number of doctoral programs and the breadth of research taking place at the institution. In 2022, in recognition of its continued programmatic development and achievement, Fisher was recognized by New York State as a University, elevating the status of the institution to its current level and prestige. The magazine also analyzes data from federal education databases, PayScale, a Washington, D.C. think tank, and the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics.
Fisher ranked No. 488 in the national rankings and was also included in several Top Colleges sub-lists, including Best Private Colleges (No. 270), Best Research Universities (No. 250), and Best Colleges in the Northeast (No. 175).
