October Calls for Walking
As the leaves start to change and the air becomes crisp, Fisher’s Staff Advisory Council invites all employees to participate in Walktober!
Walktober is a 31-day fitness challenge through the month of October that prioritizes movement of any kind. This wellness program has a motivating team competition, an interactive message board, helpful resources, interesting articles, recipes, and more.
Don’t let the name “Walktober” fool you, as this challenge welcomes fitness of all kinds. Once registered, employees can log their activity through the web tracker or the mobile app each day and it will convert any exercise into steps, so all physical activity counts. And what better way to exercise than to do it alongside colleagues?
Joining with others striving for similar goals helps with accountability — and doubles the chances of success. So start or join a team with members close by, across the hall, or around the world. The most important thing is to recruit those who are motivated to be active and healthy. Team size is capped at 5 people. Teams consist of four to five members. Participants can only be on one team. Participants can create their own teams and invite others, or participants can send a request to join a team. *Cross departmental teams will receive an incentive gift!*
Walktober registration is now open, so sign up today! For any questions regarding Walktober at Fisher, email staffadvisorycouncil@sjf.edu.
