Connor Named Fellow of American College of Critical Care Medicine

Dr. Kathryn A. Connor, associate professor of pharmacy practice and administration at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, was recently named a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCCM).

Designation as a Fellow honors practitioners, researchers, administrators, and educators who have made outstanding contributions to the field of critical care. Fellows are recognized for their clinical excellence, scholarly activities, and regional or national engagement with the association. Connor will be formally inducted as a Fellow during the Critical Care Congress, held in February 2025.

A member of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy faculty since 2009, Connor is a clinical specialist in critical care and has maintained a clinical site in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Rochester Medical Center. In addition to her teaching, she precepts School of Pharmacy students in their introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences. She is also a dedicated advisor and a member of the Experiential Pharmacy Advisory Committee.

Upon earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University, Connor completed two residencies, both in challenging clinical environments under the guidance of internationally-recognized directors and preceptors. She is board-certified in critical care and is an APhA-certified immunizer. She is also completing a teaching certificate program through the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Throughout her career, Connor has been an active member of many pharmacy organizations. In addition to the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, she has chaired committees and held regional or national leadership positions with the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists. She has authored or co-authored articles for several publications, including the Journal of Clinical Medicine Research and Critical Care Explorations, and has delivered presentations at conferences across the country.

In recognition of her service to the University and success in the classroom, she has received several honors and awards, including earning the Faculty Conference Award in 2020; induction into the Rho Chi Honor Society in 2021; and has been nominated for Preceptor of the Year several times.
