Family Business Webinar Explores the AI Revolution
This October, the Family Business Program at St. John Fisher University will host a webinar, “Navigating the AI Revolution: Empowering the Future of Learning and Work.” The free lunch-and-learn webinar will run from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, via Zoom.
During the webinar, Katie Sabourin, assistant vice president for digital learning at the DePeters Family Center for Innovation and Teaching Excellence at St. John Fisher University, will offer an overview of generative AI, explaining what it is and how it works, as well as what’s driving this innovation across industries. She will also share how AI is transforming work at Fisher.
“AI is changing our world and we are fortunate to have Katie Sabourin lead a high-level overview session for our business community,” said Dr. Carol Wittmeyer, director of the Family Business Program and visiting associate professor in the School of Business.
Participants will learn how Fisher is navigating the use of this technology across campus to ensure academic integrity in the learning process while preparing students for the changing workforce. In addition, the webinar will provide general predictions on the future trajectory of generative AI and its potential impact on the workforce.
“AI is affecting all kinds of industries and all levels of employees. Generative AI is especially affecting knowledge workers in new ways that previous AI automation has not before,” said Sabourin. “It’s imperative to gain skills to use these tools to stay competitive in a changing world of work.”
The webinar is open to family business owners, firm stakeholders, and those interested in artificial intelligence and business. Online registration is open now through Tuesday, Oct. 22. For more information, email cwittmeyer@sjf.edu.
