“This year’s recognition in the U.S. News & World Report rankings is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our faculty and staff, our impressive student achievements, and our exceptional alumni outcomes. Our commitment to fostering an environment of academic rigor and excellence has guided us since our beginnings, and that commitment has been vital to our continuing success,” said Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, president of the University. “These accolades also spotlight the University’s demonstrated commitment to making a Fisher education affordable and accessible to students and families. I am so proud of all we have accomplished as a collegiate community and of the many ways our students and alumni make a transformative impact in their personal and professional lives.”
In the spring, U.S. News releases rankings for campus and online pathways for graduate programs. The Wegmans School of Nursing ranked No. 31 in Best Nursing Schools: Masters and No. 85 in Best Nursing Schools: Doctor of Nursing Practice. In a new 2024 list, the Wegmans School of Pharmacy ranked No. 80 on the Best Health Schools list. The School was assessed among the 141 schools and programs offering Doctor of Pharmacy degrees accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. In recent years, with the addition of fully online graduate and doctoral programs, Fisher’s impact has grown to student representation from 35 states across the U.S., two U.S. territories, and seven countries. Fisher ranked No. 137 for Best Online Nursing Program and No. 229-303 for Best Online Master’s in Education programs.
Fisher’s forward momentum as an institution was reflected in its reclassification as a Doctoral/Research University (today, Doctoral/Professional University) in 2010 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. In 2022, in recognition of its continued programmatic development and achievement, Fisher was recognized by New York State as a University, elevating the status of the institution to its current level and prestige.
A student-centered focus and emphasis on engaged classroom learning contribute to consistently high pass rates on licensure exams in professional programs, while across the University, internship opportunities, experiential learning, international experiences, career services and resources, help new graduates launch successful careers. Fisher’s intimate learning experience—the student to faculty ratio is 12:1—and strong alumni base create a network of support for students, from their first year and beyond.
