Women in Family Business Committee to Host Fall Networking Event
This fall, the Family Business Program at St. John Fisher University will host its fall networking event for women in family firms.
The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Tim Horton’s Iceplex (2700 Brighton Henrietta Town Line Rd). Women from family firms are invited to meet, network, share, and learn from each other.
“As women in family businesses, we bring unique perspectives and strengths to the table. Our events provide an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and foster growth both personally and professionally,” said Holly Rund, a fourth-generation family leader at Kittelberger Florist & Gifts, and member of Fisher’s Women in Family Business Committee.
Jennifer Karbowski, franchise owner, FHL of New York LLC DBA Tim Horton’s, will discuss her family business journey, her career timeline leading her to Tim Horton’s, and what it’s like to take over a franchise. She will also provide a sample of fall drinks and baked goods for event attendees. Guests can also enjoy a selection of wine from Delicato Family Wines and light appetizers courtesy of Chef’s.
“I was introduced to the Women in Family Business Committee less than a year ago and already it has been a rewarding experience. Women in the Rochester region and beyond can benefit greatly from this program, as it offers valuable connections and insights from experts in family business and provides a niche networking opportunity that resonates deeply with those involved,” said Karbowski. “I’m pleased to host a unique event at Tim Horton’s Iceplex. I look forward to sharing insights from my journey with our family business and my experience as a Tim Horton’s franchisee.”
Online registration is open now and closes on Friday, Oct. 11 (also the last day for refunds). For more information, email Dr. Carol Wittmeyer at cwittmeyer@sjf.edu.
