The OIT website provides a list of services available to students, computer recommendations, and free and discounted software including Microsoft 365 apps.
The Service Desk can help students with questions regarding email, network accounts, computer labs, and troubleshooting network and Internet connection problems for those living on campus. If students need assistance, the OIT Service Desk is located in the bottom level of Kearney Hall, K-053. Students can email questions to OITServiceDesk@sjf.edu or call (585) 385-8016 for 24/7 technical support.

As an Apple 1:1 campus, St. John Fisher University provides all undergraduate students with an iPad, keyboard case, and Apple Pencil. iPad support is provided at the iCardinal office on the lower level of Basil Hall, behind Cyber Café. The iCardinal team can assist with all iPad issues from cracked screens to setting up email. OIT partners with the DePeters Family Center for Innovation and Teaching Excellence to offer technology specific workshops and training sessions for how best to use Apple technology.
Some students may find that the iPad kit and lab computers on campus are sufficient for their needs and they may not need to purchase a laptop for use at Fisher. Students should check with their specific program requirements to determine if a laptop is required.

RAVE Emergency Alert System
The University utilizes the RAVE Emergency Alert Notification system to communicate with the campus in the event of an emergency. Students will automatically be entered into the system after they log in to Fish ‘R’ Net for the first time. They will be asked for the following information:
- Best contact phone number (typically cell phone number)
- Who to contact if student goes missing (name and phone)
- Emergency contact (name and phone)
This information is then provided to RAVE. Students should keep their information current.
