Sport Management Instrumental in Beginnings of WNY Football Season
As football in Western New York took shape in the late summer months, several Fisher sport management students were front and center in helping with the preparation.
Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox hosted his annual youth football camp in June and saw record numbers of attendees. The camp teaches children the fundamentals of football while providing valuable lessons on teamwork and leadership. Elijah Frechette ’26 was one of several students who volunteered and found the opportunity invaluable.
“I got involved in Dawson’s camp because I thought it would be a great way to start building my network and get involved in the sports industry,” he said. “Seeing the joy on the campers’ faces when Dawson was around was just amazing!”
As the Buffalo Bills rolled onto the Fisher campus last July, several students had a front row view of how the retail operation for an NFL team works.
“Legends is a well-known company with a great reputation, and I knew that accepting this opportunity would allow me to create new connections within the sports industry,” said Tia Buttino ’26. “ My overall knowledge of inventory, merchandise, and sales increased tremendously, and I was able to witness the organization and structure that a large company such as Legends must operate under to be successful.”
