Countdown to Commencement: Molly Zies
This week’s Countdown to Commencement video features Molly Zies, a native of Waterford, Michigan, who chose Fisher because of the beautiful campus and friendly atmosphere.
Once on campus, she didn’t waste any time getting involved. She serves on the Relay for Life committee, is a student ambassador and CORE team member through the Office of Admissions, and is a member of the Orientation Team and the Student Alumni Association.
Matt Berry ’13, assistant director of freshman admissions, nominated Zies for the feature, naming her among the best students he’s ever worked with though the office.
“Molly oversees all Open House events and is extremely detail-oriented,” Berry said. “It is very helpful to not have to worry about what will happen on our biggest visit days, as Molly is on top of it.”
A human resources management major, Zies hopes to pursue a career in recruitment, perhaps continuing her passion and talent for planning and programming.
“I think getting involved was probably the best thing I have ever done,” she said, adding that she’s been a part of events that are dear to her heart and has made lifelong friends. “I could never imagine having any of these opportunities anywhere else. I came eight hours away and had no idea what I was going to do with my life. And I feel like I am coming out a whole new person.”
