Fisher Hosts Drive for Brighton Food Cupboard
St. John Fisher College is hosting a food drive to benefit the Brighton Food Cupboard, now through Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Collection boxes have been placed in Pioch 128, the Mathematics Department Foyer (Pioch 114), Kearney Hall K119, the Campus Ministry Center, and in the Chapel.
The idea for the drive came from Dr. Scott Harrison, as associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computing Sciences, who teamed up with the Office of Campus Ministry to host the collection bins.
A program of the Jewish Family Service (JFS), the Brighton Food Cupboard helps to address food insecurity for individuals and families in Brighton and residents of the following zip codes: 14610, 14620, 14618, 14607, which includes St. John Fisher College.
JFS said that items of most need include canned or boxes soups, cereal, rice, toiletries, granola bars, oil, canned vegetables and fruit, tuna, peanut butter, and pasta.
