Fisher Freshman Accepted into Morgan Stanley Summer Program
Orlando native Andrés Ramírez ’22 has been selected to participate in the 2019 Summer Freshman Enhancement Program at Morgan Stanley in New York City.
Ramírez was attracted to St. John Fisher College’s close-knit community and the opportunity to play volleyball.
“What influenced me to come to Fisher is the supportive network of students and faculty, as well as the opportunity to experience new things, like playing collegiate volleyball,” he said.
The finance major and Honors student hopes to pursue financial analysis, investment banking, and wealth management. He is also considering furthering his education to become a corporate lawyer upon graduation from Fisher. According to the Morgan Stanley website, the Freshman Enhancement Program provides Black, Hispanic, Native American, and LGBTQ students with the opportunity to experience the company’s culture first-hand while learning more about their divisions: Wealth Management, Global Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Sales & Trading, and Research.
After a rigorous application process and two interviews, Ramírez was selected as a recipient of this prestigious opportunity from candidates across the nation. He will spend a week in June learning about institutional securities and what operations the division oversees, while also networking with other students and senior employees at Morgan Stanley.
“I hope to refine my skills and learn a lot about financial analysis while I am there and take this knowledge with me through my remaining years at Fisher and into law school later on.”
