Paint the Campus Red on Wear Red Day
On Friday, February 1, St. John Fisher College will host Wear Red Day, to kick off Heart Month and fundraising for the American Heart Association 2019 Heart Walk & Run.
This event runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, in the Campus Center Atrium. Students, faculty, and staff can enjoy healthy, red smoothies prepared by Fisher Dining and win prizes.
Pre-Health Club members will also register participants and distribute information cards with details about the Heart Walk & Run.
Fisher is a sponsor of the American Heart Association 2019 Heart Walk & Run, with a goal to raise $2,000 and create a Fisher team of at least 50 faculty, staff, and students to participate in the walk.
The Heart Walk & Run will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019. This event is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from the country’s number one and number five killers: heart disease and stroke. Fundraising benefits educational programs, research and initiatives, advocacy, urgent care quality, and workplace health solutions worksites.
For nearly 100 years, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. AHA is the largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, founded in 1924 by six cardiologists.
