College Search Website Names Fisher’s Sport Management Program among Best in Country
The sport management program at St. John Fisher College has been ranked among the best in the country by Bachelor’s Degree Center, a college search website that provides advice, resources, and rankings on traditional and online undergraduate degree programs.
Fisher’s program, accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA), ranked No. 2 on the 25 Best Bachelor’s in Sports Administration Degree Programs for 2019 list, just behind Louisiana State University. The rankings assess COSMA accredited schools on criteria including reputation, cost, return on investment, graduation rate, and employment rate, among other factors.
According to the site, Fisher’s program “helps students find their niche, whether it’s in education, amateur sports, or the professional level.”
Fisher’s sport management program launched in spring 2000, and has graduated more than 420 students who have gone on to work for professional organizations including the Buffalo Bills, Boston Red Sox, and Phoenix Suns, among many others.
“For 20 years, our focus has been on providing a program and learning environment that prepares our students for success in the sport industry but also as good citizens,” said Dr. Todd Harrison, chair of the program. “These rankings help validate feedback we receive from our industry partners and alumni about the preparedness of our graduates and motivates us to further the student-centered work we are doing.”
