This is Your Semester, Get Involved!
January 24, 2019
Fisher clubs and organizations united once again for the spring Involvement Fest. Each club was set up in the Campus Center with a display table and sign-up sheets to attract new members. Whether you’re a freshman or a graduating senior, Fisher has a club for you.
A lot of students benefit from the event as it showcases all of the ways to get involved on campus. Just ask Sanjeev Sekharan ’20. He met members of Fisher’s a capella group, Drastic Measures, his freshman year and has been singing with the group ever since.
Spring is a busy semester for many clubs, making it a great time to get involved. Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) will be hosting the annual “Relay for Life” event on Saturday, April 6. The club is currently working on a memory board to honor loved ones who were lost to cancer.
Student Concert Committee is also gearing up for an active semester. The club will be selling Ariana Grande tickets over the next few weeks and there is talk of sponsoring another concert for Travis Scott.
Fisher players are in the audition phase of their newest show, “Little Shop of Horrors,” to be held in April.
New clubs also participated in Involvement Fest, including Pencils and Paper, which helps provide teachers with school supplies.
Ukulele Club members gave simple lessons to anyone passing by. President Dan Verno ’19 encouraged anyone to attend meetings, no skill or ukelele required.
“I feel like I’m doing people a service, they come in with no knowledge, and now they just be jammin’!” Verno said.
If you missed this semester’s Involvement Fest but still want to get involved, check FisherSync for club updates and meeting times.
