GradReports Lists Fisher Among “25 Best Master’s in Counseling Programs”
St. John Fisher College’s Mental Health Counseling master’s degree program has been named among the “25 Best Master’s in Counseling Programs 2020,” according to gradreports.com.
The list is generated using data published by the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard; it ranks institutions based on the median salary of their graduates. Fisher earned the No. 18 spot on the list.
Housed in the Wegmans School of Nursing, the Mental Health Counseling program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The program prepares students to engage in mental health work at community agencies, clinics, hospitals, and private practice, among other settings. Students receive in-depth, practical insight into key counseling areas including social and cultural diversity, human growth and development, research, and evidence-based intervention skills. Graduates of the mental health counseling program benefit from a 97 percent placement rate and work in mental health care settings on a local, regional, and national level.
