04/01/2020 - Two members of the Wegmans School of Nursing community, Deborah Maier and Wendy Hou, presented research at the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists Annual Conference earlier this month.
03/30/2020 - The switch to online classes as a result of COVID-19 didn’t just alter students’ plans in the classroom. As Fisher students returned home, and non-essential businesses closed, many internships also came to an end. Luckily, technology allowed several students to continue their internship work, just with a much different backdrop.
03/27/2020 - Seniors Oskarys Fermin and Luisa Rodriguez and sophomore Tamaron McKnight co-presented a paper with Dr. Lisa J. Cunningham, visiting assistant professor of English and director of Women and Gender Studies, in Dallas, Texas, at the 28th annual National Association of African American Studies National Conference in late February.
03/26/2020 - St. John Fisher College was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) 2020 Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways they have created to support transfer students.
03/24/2020 - St. John Fisher College faculty member Hugh Lambert, CPA, has published an article on family business succession planning opportunities in the December 2019 issue of the CPA Journal.
03/24/2020 - Nursing Process ranked St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Nursing No. 3 in its 2020 rankings of the best accredited nursing schools in New York.
03/20/2020 - These are uncertain times, aren’t they? We have no model, no map, no collective memory for how to cope with COVID-19. Colleges are trying to respond, anticipate, plan, and revise on the fly. The media keeps using terms like “unprecedented,” and “crisis,” and “chaos.” We’ve seen hoarding of toilet paper, then the return of kindness and tending to our most vulnerable, and what I feel—underneath all the uncertainty—is a sense of togetherness and hope.
03/20/2020 - On Monday, March 23, St. John Fisher College students and professors will log onto computers, phones, and tablets to re-engage with their coursework. As the campus community navigates courses delivered in a fully online format, faculty and staff have been hard at work ensuring for a smooth transition. 03/17/2020 - This is a time of great uncertainty. I know that last week’s turn of events was unexpected, felt abrupt, and left many of you feeling anxious. The decisions to suspend on-ground instruction and to vacate the residence halls were made with the most up to date, publicly available information and your best interest in mind.
