Sacco Honored with Distinguished Dissertation Award
Dr. Tara Sacco, visiting assistant professor in the Wegmans School of Nursing, was recently given the Distinguished Dissertation Award by Villanova University’s Fitzpatrick College of Nursing.
Sacco pursued her doctoral degree at Villanova, where her dissertation focused on the relationship of the work environment to compassion satisfaction or fatigue among critical care nurses. The Nursing Distinguished Dissertation Award recognizes dissertations of exceptionally high quality that make a valuable contribution to the literature. Sacco was formally honored during the University’s Annual Research Symposium on Thursday, March 12.
Sacco holds a bachelor’s in nursing from Hartwick College, a master’s in leadership of health care systems from the University of Rochester, and a post-master’s certificate in advanced practice nursing from Fisher. Her research interests include nursing quality of life and healthy work environments (which is the focus of her dissertation); burn, trauma, and neuroscience nursing; adult critical care nursing; and organ donation and transplantation.
