Seeking Student Speaker for Commencement Eve
Attention Class of 2020! The Commencement Committee is seeking a student speaker for the annual Commencement Eve dinner, which will take place this year on Friday, May 8.
This special event brings together Commencement honorees including the keynote speaker and honorary degree recipients, as well as the President’s Medal recipient, Trustees, donors, student leaders, and other friends of the College to recognize all Commencement Honorees and celebrate the success of another academic year.
Honorees share remarks during the event, and new this year, all eligible candidates for graduation are invited to apply to serve as the student speaker. This opportunity is open to all members of the graduating class – bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree recipients. Speeches should be 3-4 minutes in length. Applicants will be interviewed by a selection committee, and asked to deliver their speech at that time. Interviews will take place the week of April 6, and the speaker will be selected and notified by April 15.
The application is now open and interested candidates can apply online until Friday, March 13.
