Two from the Wegmans School of Nursing Present at National Conference
Two members of the Wegmans School of Nursing community, Deborah Maier and Wendy Hou, presented research at the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists Annual Conference earlier this month.
Maier, a 2018 graduate of the Clinical Nurse Specialist program, presented her capstone project “Short Peripheral Intravenous Catheter Resite by Clinical Indication,” a pilot study that was then implemented across the Rochester Regional Health system with a significant cost savings.
Hou ’07, ’15 (AGCNS), a current student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, presented “Getting to the Next Stage in Congenital Cardiac Care: A formal Transition for Adolescents.” This work draws from Hou’s experiences as a clinical nurse specialist at the University of Rochester Medical Center and will inform her DNP project.
