Build Your Digital Brand during Social Media Week
Starting Monday, April 5, the PRIMA Group and the Tom Proietti Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), two student-run clubs in the Department of Media and Communications, will host Social Media Week.
The four-day event will features interactive panels and workshops featuring media professionals specializing in social media, technology, and digital marketing.
Developing a Social Media Strategy for In-House Comm
5 p.m. on Monday, April 5
This panel explores how to develop an in-house social media strategy and features Elizabeth Beach ’20 of Rochester Regional Health.
Influencer Workshop
6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6
Sheila Dunne, president and co-founder of Dunne Goodwin, will host an interactive workshop on social media influencers.
Building a Personal Brand Workshop
4 p.m. on Thursday, April 8
Audra Raub of Birdie Laine Creative, a branding and web design business, will host an interactive personal branding workshop.
Launching a Start-Up Brand
11 a.m. on Friday, April 9
A panel on launching a start-up and managing a brand’s image through social media with Natalie Gates’18 of RadSister and Allison Baird’18 of Mote Marine and Laboratory Aquarium.

Additionally, the Department of Media and Communication will host the Democracy and Social Media Symposium from 12:25 to 7 p.m. on April 7, via Zoom. The symposium will cover topics like media ethics, online radicalization, the first amendment, media literacy, and social media influencers and will be led by department professors and guest speakers.
