St. John Fisher College Turns Into Winter Wonderland during First-Ever Fisher Snow Day
St. John Fisher College will host the first-ever Fisher Snow Day on Saturday, Feb. 13 and for several hours, campus will transform into a snowy paradise for nonstop winter fun, in a COVID-safe way.
Beginning at 2 p.m., students can enjoy live music, take pictures in a one-of-a-kind snow globe photo booth with the Fisher mascot, Cardinal, and make their own “snowbae” right in time for Valentine’s Day.
Students can also lace up skates as a parking lot (Lot I) will transform into an ice-skating rink, while others can grab sweepers and take advantage of a curling station. To escape the cold, students can warm up with hot cocoa and nibble on popcorn from DocPop and fresh Boxcar donuts. There will also be snowflake cross stitch and snowflake stress ball craft workshops compliments of the Fisher Best Buddies Club. A Winter Wonderland-themed dinner will follow in the College’s famed No. 1 dining hall in the state.
At 7 p.m., students will roast s’mores over an open fire while an outdoor screening of “Cool Runnings” plays on a big screen. For the adventurous night owls, the Varsity Gym in the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Athletic Center will convert into a laser tag arena.
The event is sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion, the Office of Campus Ministry, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Office of Residential Life, the Center for Career and Academic Planning, and the Student Government Association.
