Countdown to Commencement 2021: Emma Pyrak
Business management and marketing major Emma Pyrak is the next member of the Class of 2021 to be featured in the Countdown to Commencement series.
The Buffalo native hasn’t stopped moving since she set foot on campus as a first-year student in 2017. She has been a member of the women’s golf team all four years, appearing in six tournaments her first year. In 2019, she was named to the Northeast Women’s Golf Conference All-Academic Team. Off the course, she has been involved in Colleges Against Cancer, serving as president her junior and senior years. In addition, she has been a captain for the Teddi Dance for Love for three years.
Currently, she is the executive intern in the Office of Marketing and Communications. In that role, she has been responsible for managing the College’s Snapchat account and she established a new Instagram for the executive intern program. She also wrote several news articles for the website and for the College’s weekly newsletter, College News Highlights, and alumni magazine, Collegium.
Pyrak credits all of her experiences at Fisher for her growth over the past four years.
“You can get a lot out of your time at Fisher, but you do have to put in work for it. They always say, the more you put into something, the more you get out of it, and that is one hundred percent true here,” she said. “I can tell you being active in clubs and being on a sports team - it really has helped me hone my time management skills that I know I can carry into my career. And if it wasn’t for my involvement in clubs, in sports, in campus ministry, I would not have some of the friends that I do.”
After graduation, Pyrak will begin as public relations assistant at Dixon Schwabl, an integrated marketing, and advertising agency. She will also begin her journey to become a Double Cardinal when she returns to Fisher in the fall for her MBA.
