Fisher’s Graduate Programs Perform Well in U.S. News’ Annual Rankings

Several of St. John Fisher College’s advanced degree programs achieved high rankings in the annual U.S. News & World Report “Best Grad Schools” lists.

“These rankings demonstrate our collective commitment to high quality education in all of our programs,” said Dr. Kevin Railey, provost at the College. “The results are a testament to the quality and dedication of our faculty and staff, the hard work of our students, and successes of our alumni.”

Fisher’s MBA program and master’s and doctoral programs in the Wegmans School of Nursing were among the programs ranked by the publication.

Master’s programs offered through the School of Nursing are among the top 100 programs in the country, ranking No. 85 for Best Nursing Schools - Master’s in the 2021 edition of the publication’s “Best Grad Schools Nursing” lists. The School’s doctoral program ranked No. 111.

The School offers five Master of Science in Nursing degrees including Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner; Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner; and Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist; as well as a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. In spring 2020, the School announced that its master’s in nursing programs would also be offered in a fully online format, thanks to a partnership with 2U, Inc. The first cohort of students in the online pathway will begin classes in fall 2021.

Fisher’s full-time MBA program, housed in the School of Business, ranked No. 106, moving into the top three-quarters of all ranked full-time MBA programs. The list specifically praises business schools with MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. Alumni of Fisher’s business programs go on to work for Fortune 500 companies, start their own ventures, or find success in the local, national, and international business landscape.
