e-scrap for Camp Starts March 17
The e-scrap for camp electronics recycling initiative benefits Camp Good Days & Special Times.
Sunnking, the main recycling sponsor for this event, has currently raised over $114,000 for Camp Good Days.
Collection starts Thursday, March 17 in the Integrated Science and Health Sciences Building, room 116. Items can be dropped off in the large bins set up in the room at any time through Tuesday, March 29. Computers and other data-containing devices will be collected during the Fisher Goes Green Fair on Wednesday, March 23 or by appointment (email sustainability@sjfc.edu). While the initiative does not provide certified data destruction, hard drives will be locked until Sunnking can properly shred and dispose.
There is no cost to recycle televisions, monitors, or other such devices.
Note that hallway recycling does not handle e-waste and you should not leave things in the hallway. For Fisher-owned property (e.g. computers or anything with an inventory tag), please contact OIT for disposal.
Acceptable materials include computers and accessories, mobile devices, office equipment, data center equipment, and much more. For a full list of what Sunnking will accept, visit their website.
