Ed.D. Graduates Earn Doctoral Hoods
On Saturday, March 19 and Saturday, April 2, the St. John Fisher College Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held hooding and awards ceremonies for graduates of the Ed.D. in Executive Leadership program at the extension sites at Iona College and Onondaga Community College (OCC). Dr. Shannon Cleverley-Thompson, program department chair, addressed the graduates present at both ceremonies.
During the Iona ceremony, Dr. Bert Shillingford, a program director at SUNY Rockland Community College, delivered remarks to his cohort. Dr. Stephanie Baker was given the Exemplary Performance in Leadership Award and Exemplary Performance in Service Award, while Dr. Robin Small and Dr. Janette McCoy-McKay were given the Exemplary Performance in Scholarship Award.
Dr. Sarah Rourke, a consultant with the United Nations Association of Canada, delivered remarks at the OCC site. Dr. Danielle O’Brien and Dr. Susan Lohret were given the Exemplary Performance in Leadership Award, Dr. Karen Fabrizio was given the Exemplary Performance in Service Award, and Dr. Diane Wynne was given the Exemplary Performance in Scholarship Award.
During Commencement Weekend, candidates at the Rochester site participated in their hooding ceremony, held on Friday, May 6. Dr. Joellen Maples, dean of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education and Cleverley-Thompson addressed the graduates present.
Dr. Matthew Barr, superintendent of the Lyons Central School District, served as the graduate speaker. Dr. Theresa Steele was given the Exemplary Performance in Leadership Award, Dr. Crystal Hallenbeck and Dr. Ellen Howe were given the Exemplary Performance in Scholarship Award, and Dr. Eva Thomas and Dr. Eduard Visagie were given the Exemplary Performance in Service Award.
