Nursing Graduates Once Again Surpass State, National NCLEX Pass Rates

In 2021, 93.3 percent of graduates of the Wegmans School of Nursing successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on their first attempt.

For the seventh consecutive year, Fisher’s pass rate exceeded the New York State average (77.33 percent); Fisher graduates also outperformed the national average (82.48 percent). 

The NCLEX, which is administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, ensures entry-level nurses meet set requirements and demonstrate specific safety and care activity competencies before entering the practice.

“Our NCLEX pass rate is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty, who have had to reimagine course delivery in the midst of the pandemic,” said Dr. Tricia Gatlin, dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing. “Our faculty work diligently to ensure that our nursing graduates are well prepared for rewarding careers and can provide exceptional patient-centered nursing care from the moment they enter the workforce.”
