New Exhibit Celebrates Rochester Artists
St. John Fisher College will celebrate local Rochester artists through a new exhibit, “The EARTH without ART is just EH,” on display now through Friday, May 27, at the Patricia O’Keefe Ross Gallery located in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center.
A reception for the artists will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, in the gallery.
“Many art festivals, galleries, and studios closed to the public for over a year, including our own gallery, which was converted to a classroom,” said Dr. Cathy Sweet, assistant dean of administration and assessment in the School of Arts and Sciences and director of the gallery. “As we move into the summer, we are excited to welcome everyone back and to have the gallery full of original art by our local artists.”
Artists from Anderson Alley Studios include Lynne Feldman, Judy Gohringer, Richard Harvey, Nancy Vallee, and Valerie Larson. Hungerford Studios artists include Suzi Zefting-Kuhn, Brian O’Neill, Nancy Murty, and Joni Monroe. Regional artists include Sarah Hart, Camille McBride, and Mark Rice, a photographer and professor in the American Studies Department at Fisher.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
