A Tale of Two Diamonds: Women in Family Business
**NOTE: This event Has been cancelled.**
This spring, the School of Business at St. John Fisher University will host A Tale of Two Diamonds, a networking event aimed at fostering discussions about women in family businesses featuring Desiree Silver ’24 of the Rochester Red Wings and Amy Derks of The Gem Lab.
The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jun. 22, at Innovative Field (1 Morrie Silver Way, Rochester, NY 14608). The event invites women from multigenerational firms to attend and engage in family business conversations. Attendees will hear from both Silver and Derks prior to the start of the game.
“I think our events further propel the Women in Family Business program as we’ve proven we are successful at planning unique and dynamic events. Some programs will be of higher intrigue, which diversifies attendees and the makeup of our events. In turn, this fosters new connections and new ideas at each gathering,” said Teagan White ’19, chairwoman of the women and family business committee and director of onboarding and community engagement at JN White.
Silver, a third-generation at the Rochester Red Wings, will provide an overview of her family firm, offering insights into the operations of minor league baseball and professional sports. Following Silver, Derks, a graduate gemologist, will host a featurette session teasing the next women in family business event later this summer.
Online registration is open now through Thursday, June 15. For more information, email Brittany Pasquale at bpasquale@sjf.edu, or call the Office of the Dean of the School of Business at (585) 385-8446.
