First Friday Lecture Series Returns in April
The First Friday Lecture Series returns this spring as Rev. William Graf delivers the talk, “Who was John Fisher?” on Friday, April 14 (this month’s lecture is delayed one week due to Friday, April 7 being Good Friday).
Fr. Graf will discuss the extraordinary life and death of Cardinal John Fisher, the role he played in a tumultuous time in England’s history, and how he came to have a university named in his honor in Rochester, New York.
The lecture begins at 10:30 a.m. with a light reception preceding in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center. This lecture will also be offered virtually via Zoom. Registration for the lecture, which is free and open to the public, is available online.
The next Fisher Friday Lecture, “Fisher’s Basilian Roots” will be held on Friday, May 5, and features a presentation by President Gerard J. Rooney and University Archivist and Instruction Librarian Nancy Greco. Dr. Carolyn Vacca, professor and chair of the History Department, will deliver the lecture, “Fisher and Rochester,” on Friday, June 2.
