School of Business Honors Graduates during Commencement
When graduating senior Henry Huynh thinks about Fisher, three words come to mind. Growth, family, and memories. Those concepts served as the foundation for his address to fellow members of the Class of 2023 during the School of Business Commencement ceremony.
At the ceremony, held on Saturday, May 13, the School conferred bachelor’s and master’s degrees to more than 100 students. During his speech, Huynh encouraged his classmates to recall their first days on campus and consider how far they have come, individually and as a group.
“We have learned that facing challenges is a positive thing in our lives. We develop strength, character, and discipline through those hard times,” said Huynh. “By overcoming adversities and never giving up, we aspire to motivate others to persist in their pursuits and remain determined despite obstacles. Remember, the journey is as important as the destination.”
Along with his speech, Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, president of the University, and Dr. Carol Wittmeyer, interim dean of the School, also delivered remarks.
“You have become a part of Fisher’s history and our growth, successes, and new beginnings,” said Rooney. “Today, as we reflect on our institution’s storied past and look ahead to a great future, we proudly celebrate you.”
