Countdown to Commencement: Angelea Collins
Marketing major Angelea Collins is the next member of the Class of 2024 to be featured in the “Countdown to Commencement” series. Collins was nominated by Jonathan Schott, assistant director in the Office of Campus Ministry and Brittany Pasquale, assistant to the dean in the School of Business.
Originally from Corning, New York, Collins is a member of the women’s cross country and track and field teams, a member of the Peer Ministry leadership team, a marketing intern in Fisher’s Office of Marketing and Communications, an RA, and the president of the School of Business Dean’s Student Advisory Council. During her junior year, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy.
“Angelea is involved in a multitude of different groups across campus, in addition to being a student-athlete. She is a motivated and driven student who is always willing to help. She has helped to build and improve the various groups and clubs she is a part of here at Fisher, leaving them in a better place for future Fisher students,” said Pasquale.
For Collins, her involvement efforts within the Office of Campus Ministry have been influential in helping students grow in their faith. Schott believes Collins adds a sense of welcome and excitement to the ministry program.
“Angelea has been such an asset to this campus and to Campus Ministry. She assists with our sacramental preparation program, accompanying her peers preparing for sacraments like baptism and confirmation. She consistently invites people to explore their faith and spirituality and is just a good set of ears for anyone,” said Schott.
As an entrepreneur with her own cupcake company, her nominators say that Collins is a leader who is passionate about helping others.
“I will remember how she developed as a leader throughout her four years here in the School of Business and at Fisher and her drive to be involved but most importantly, make a difference,” said Pasquale.
