Countdown to Commencement: Krissy Wilson
The final student to be featured in our “Countdown to Commencement” series is Krissy Wilson, a biology student and member of the Honors Program. Wilson was nominated by Daryl Hurd, associate professor of biology.
Wilson is described as an outstanding student, exceptional in the classroom, and impactful throughout campus. As a summer fellow and active member of the Chemistry Club, she also dedicates her time to tutoring and engaging in summer research.
From a young age, Wilson has been naturally curious. When she discovered biology, she knew it was meant for her. “Once I found out that biology was asking the ‘why’ questions and exploring it with research, it made sense to me to make as my life’s passion and career focus.”
During her time at Fisher, she has made great connections with her professors and other professionals in the field, influencing her future career plans. “I want to become a professor because I have had so many great people at Fisher who have influenced, taught, and helped me grow, so I want to give that back to another student one day,” said Wilson.
She plans on attending graduate school to obtain her Ph.D. in biomedical sciences and hopes to become a professor at an undergraduate teaching institution.
