03/25/2025 - During the fall 2024 semester, the School of Business launched a new course, TPC: Business Kickstarter, created by Dean Dan Connolly and Dr. Chantz B. Miles, who taught the course.
03/24/2025 - This year, 1,013 donors raised more than $720,000 during the sixth annual I Heart Fisher Giving Day. Held on Thursday, March 20, the celebration of philanthropy supports students and programs at St. John Fisher University.
03/24/2025 - The next student featured is Emma Cooper, a biochemistry major and student-athlete on the field hockey team. She was nominated by Dr. Zachary Murphy, assistant professor of biology.
03/21/2025 - “Edge of the cliff” is often used as a metaphor for a situation that has suddenly taken a dangerous turn. It suggests uncertainty of some sort, and can lead to success or failure depending on what happens next. For Dr. Rob Rice, a professor and chair of the mental health counseling program in the Wegmans School of Nursing, this metaphor came to life when he found himself on a cliff ledge with his dog, Walter, in 2019.
03/20/2025 - Registration is now open for the 2025 Fisher Showcase, an event that features the creative and scholarly works of University students, faculty, and staff.
03/20/2025 - The Rochester Academy of Science (RAS) awarded St. John Fisher University student Abigail Garvey an undergraduate research grant to investigate the role that the gene and protein, par-1, plays in the development of the C. elegans male tail. A technique called RNAi depletes the protein levels in the cell so that errors in the worm’s developmental stages can be found.
