The Barry Goldwater, Fulbright, and Harry S. Truman Scholarship details and application deadlines have been added to mySJF for students to explore. Dr. Ann Marie Fallon, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, thought it was important to bring these types of opportunities forward for Fisher students.

“These are competitive opportunities that reflect the caliber of the students we have at Fisher, and would allow them to be a part of these national and international cohorts of talented students and scholars,” said Fallon.

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship is tailored for students who are pursuing a research career in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. The scholarship is open to sophomores or juniors with a grade point average of at least a 3.0.

The Fulbright Scholarship is for students pursuing graduate study or research abroad. Applicants must have a conferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent before the start of the grant period.

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is aimed at students planning to attend graduate school for career in public service and is open to rising juniors with a major suitable for a career in public service (e.g., political science, economics, legal studies, data analytics, English).

Each scholarship has a fall 2025 deadline, and additional eligibility criteria, as well as the faculty advisor information, can be found on the intranet.
