Countdown to Commencement 2025: Nate Ripple
The next student featured is soon-to-be MBA graduate Nate Ripple. A hard-working committed professional, he has been contemplating returning to school to pursue his MBA for some time, and when Fisher launched the online program, he knew it was a fit for him. Ripple was nominated by Kristen Lennarz, interim director of the MBA program.
A 2003 psychology and biology graduate of Fisher, Ripple's academic excellence continued in his graduate studies. His dedication and hard work were recognized when he was elected into Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Honor Society for the School of Business, in April of 2024. Beyond his academic achievements, Ripple has been an active member of the MBA Student Advisory Board, where he has contributed significantly by providing input regarding ways to improve the program and enhancing how new orientation packets and information are shared to make incoming students feel welcomed. He also participated in the University’s “Impactful You” advertising campaign.
Ripple is appreciative and thankful for the flexibility of Fisher's MBA program. He emphasized the importance of being able to prioritize family time by eating dinner together while still being able to log into class in that window in between dinner and bedtime for his children.
Lennarz said that Ripple had a tremendous impact on her during his time at Fisher.
“His engagement with and support of the program, along with his professional wisdom, has provided valuable insight into the overall student experience and, particularly, into the unique needs of the professional MBA."
She also emphasized his dedication to professionalism, his enthusiasm for learning, and their amazing collaboration. She believes he will be running the company where he currently works in no time, while remaining close to his Fisher family.
Ripple's journey is a testament to his belief in lifelong learning and professional growth. He encourages others who are five, ten, 15, or even 20 years out of college and in a profession to return to school, experience theoretical learning, work on case studies, and collaborate with people outside of their industry or business.
