Fisher’s AMA Chapter Wins Big in New Orleans
Seven students from St. John Fisher University’s chapter of the American Marketing Association traveled to New Orleans to attend the annual International Collegiate Conference hosted by the American Marketing Association.
This year’s conference theme, Evolve, captured the vision of growth, innovation, and progression that embodies the dynamic world of marketing. While there, the Fisher students participated in competitions, attended career fairs, heard from keynote speakers, and networked with dozens of companies and more than 1,600 attendees at the conference.
A highlight of the trip was the success the AMA team enjoyed during several conference competitions.
Johnny Aiello, Nico LaRosa, Connor Dziulko, Dylan Stoller, and Jake Woolingham won first place in the Marketing Business Simulation Competition. The event tested the marketing skills of the team, assessing their ability to devise strategies that would satisfy demanding customers, beat aggressive competitors, and build a healthy bottom line through an innovative simulation.
Luke Strassberger was a finalist in the Sales Competition, and became the first Fisher student to earn a Top 10 spot in the Perfect Pitch Competition, coming in sixth place.
The group also had the opportunity to meet with Fisher alumnus Brian Bean, who serves as the senior manager of premium sales with the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans organizations. Bean led the group on a tour of Caesar’s Superdome, where the Saints play their home games, including a look at the suites and newly renovated areas that were upgraded prior to the Super Bowl.
