Fisher Partners with Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship
Fisher Becomes Institute’s Sixth Higher Education Partner, Offering Golisano Graduates the Opportunity to Transfer Credits and Earn a Bachelor’s Degree
Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship today announced a new partnership with St. John Fisher University, offering students who graduate from Golisano Institute’s two-year program the option to transfer their credits and pursue any bachelor’s degree at Fisher, some of which may be completed in an additional two years of full-time study.
St. John Fisher University is Golisano Institute’s sixth higher education partner. Admitted students can receive up to 61 credits that can be applied toward any of the nearly 40 degrees offered at the University.
“Partnering with St. John Fisher University is a perfect fit for our institute and will offer an incredible opportunity for our students to continue to pursue their business and entrepreneurial education following their graduation from our program,” said Dr. Ian Mortimer, President of Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. “Fisher has been producing some of the top business leaders in our area for decades, and we look forward to our graduates continuing that tradition.”
“We are pleased to announce this new partnership with Golisano Institute and look forward to welcoming these talented business graduates and pairing the strong foundation they have built at the Institute with the benefits of a transformative Fisher education,” said Fisher President Gerard J. Rooney. “This collaboration is a testament to the leadership and foresight of Tom Golisano, whose longstanding support of Fisher has been instrumental in the success of our institution. We are confident that this partnership will create new opportunities for students and further strengthen the ties between our campus communities.”
This partnership marks the 13th articulation agreement for Fisher, all of which are with New York State based institutions, broadening access to a Fisher education and expanding the University’s impact on the region.
“Fisher has historically supported students who may have chosen a different path immediately following their high school experience but ultimately decide they want to pursue a baccalaureate degree. We look forward to continuing to provide that seamless transition for graduates of Golisano Institute so they, too, can experience a transformative Fisher education and the benefits of being a member of our extensive campus and alumni community,” said Jose Perales, vice president for enrollment at Fisher.
In addition to St. John Fisher University, Golisano Institute also partners with Syracuse University College of Professional Studies, Roberts Wesleyan University, Alfred State College, Daemen University, and Niagara University to offer students a path toward earning a bachelor's degree.
