Support the Campus Ministry Service Trip

January 24, 2025

Each year, dozens of St. John Fisher University students travel to another city to engage in volunteerism through the Office of Campus Ministry during the spring break.

This March, 35 students will head to the greater Philadelphia area to serve at shelters, senior centers, food pantries, and soup kitchens. The team will also partner with an organization that provides vital repairs and renovations for homeowners and local churches.

To offset the cost of the trip, students host a variety of fundraisers, including the sale of fair-trade ground coffee ($15/bag), chocolate ($5/bar), and tea ($10/box). The goods can be purchased anytime during business hours in the Fr. Joseph A. Trovato, CSB Campus Ministry Center and following the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 9, in the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great. The team will also host sales from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 and Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Donald E. Bain Campus Center Atrium.

This week, the students will be hosting a fundraiser at the new Chipotle near the Record Archive (2000 East Avenue). From 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, Chipotle will donate 25 percent of sales to the students. Diners should note they are supporting the trip before ordering.
