Fisher Study Featured in Chemistry Publication

Education in Chemistry, a magazine for chemistry teachers published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, recently featured the article, Does this resonate with you?, which explored a study coauthored by Thomas Kim, professor and associate dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at St. John Fisher College.

The article detailed a study Kim, joined by professors at the Rochester Institute of Technology and University of Nebraska-Lincoln, conducted related to how first-year undergraduate students understand the chemistry concept of resonance. The study looked at how students draw on prior knowledge to further master the subject, and which models can best help them correctly understand resonance.
